Hello,

I have a question when using the Search Path API.

Could we get an elaboration on the meaning of that “DELIVERED_TO_INCORRECT_LOCATION” forward outcome status, such as why it appears and if there’s anything we can do to address the “INCORRECT_LOCATION” part, if it’s necessary?

I presume the status means that somewhere along the routing, it somehow ended up at a destination Forward Networks didn’t expect. But I just wanted to know if there was any more to it.

Thanks!

Hi @DannyR -

I’m looping in our support team to help you identify the specific reason for this message.

If Forward Enterprise knows the location of the destination IP of a path search (for example, the destination IP belongs to an interface on a network device), the platform may give the DELIVERED_TO_INCORRECT_LOCATION if the path search is dropped or delivered out an edge port before it reaches the known destination. This could occur if there is a device in the path that has not been added to the collection.
