Are there any character restrictions for tags? I would like to use ’ : ‘ in a tag as a namespace but want to be sure there won't be any caveats. I don't see anything in the docs.
I tried adding the “:” colon and the tag accepted it. I’ll asked our engineering team if there are any limitations on characters.
I created this as a tag
and @ # $ ! % ^ & * ( ) ] {}
I checked and apparently there is no filter. Also length is not enforced.
If you want to use NQE to match on Tags, then you might want to avoid brackets and quotation marks. You would need to “escape” those characters in NQE. I don’t believe the “:” colon will give you much trouble. NQE is one thing that I can think of that might care. Maybe also if you want to “filter” on the Tags column on the Inventory table or Sources table. Once again, I don’t think “:” should give you much trouble.
BTW. I was just trying the column filters. Since Forward Enterprise moved to Multi-select with checkboxes for some columns. I don’t believe that you will have a character restriction for Tags because of the column filters.
This is really helpful. Thank you for all the context
